So I googled my name and...

I found an interview that I did like four years ago that was apparently published online. http://www.ginkworld.net/articles/se7en-questions/freddy-villarreal.html It was neat to go back and read it and realized that in some ways I have really changed over the past four years, but in some ways, in the deep ways that really matter my views and convictions have only been strengthened.

I also realized that my name is apparently famous in Latin America. I have a university named after me (well not really me, but someone who had the same name). Oh, and apparently there is pretty cute hispanic actor that shares my name. That would explain all of the fan mail and autograph requests I get...hehe.

Not sure exactly why I did it, but I guess partly because I was bored, and partly because you hear people joking about "google"ing someones name to find out about them. I was curious what someone would find if they "googled" me.

Well now I know, and that is that. Yeah, guess I am bored. Oh well, it was kinda neat to go back and read words that I had forgotten I wrote. I'm sure at some level that sounds egotistical or narsasistic, but I honestly didn't mean it like that. It was more curiosity than anything.

So, now I know that I am a famous actor in Latin America and have a country named after me in Peru! I guess I should get one of those shirts that say, "I'm famous in Latin America."

Wow, I miss this place

So, as has become the pattern, I find myself here at the blog world again after months of being M.I.A. I am sure that many people have forgotten all about this post. LOL.
I went back and just looked at my archives and realized that I used to post things very often. Then things got crazy, and unfortunately one of the things to suffer was my time to just write a little about whatever is on my heart. So here I am, making no promises to "get back into full swing blogging" but realizing that I miss this, and I enjoy writing.
So where do I start...an update I guess. My life has definitely been interesting over the past year. My kids are growing like crazy. Kaelin started 4k today at her new school. Now her and Eli go to the same school (which was the topic of the entire evening last night). She was such a big girl about everything and made the first day of school easy for Daddy by not crying or anything. You know, I think that the "first day of school blues" is really about parents, not kids :). Well being at Community Presbyterian Preschool last year really helped her out. That is a great preschool! So now she is in "Big School".
What else is happening? Well, the church is growing more and more. It has been very challenging trying to keep up with all of the new folks over the past couple of years, but I figure that is a great problem to have. We are a few months away from launching a second campus, and I am pretty excited. I cant wait to reach a new neighborhood with the message of faith, grace, and unconditional love. It is always so exciting being involved in the ground level of something like that and then seeing it grow into something more amazing then you ever imagined. My favorite part is seeing the testimonies of lives, families, and relationships that are healed and restored as God finds his way into peoples hearts.
In my personal life things are going great too. I am about a third of the way through a M.A. in Christian Leadership. I am taking two classes per semester and should be done in about 2 more years (at the latest). Talk about challenging. Being a full time dad, full time pastor, and 2/3 time student has definitely increased the volume of white hairs in my goatee. Well I guess that's all for now.
